Zusman Hospice Volunteers Recognized

COLUMBUS, OHIO – Zusman Hospice of Wexner Heritage Village recently commemorated National Volunteer Week with a breakfast to honor and thank its hospice volunteers. Nisha Hammel, Senior Vice President of Home Health and Hospice for Wexner Heritage Village, shared, “Clients and families often refer to our hospice volunteers as their ‘angels’ because of the extraordinary compassion, support, and comfort they provide. We are grateful to our volunteers every day of the year, and especially enjoy dedicating National Volunteer Week as a time we can celebrate their invaluable role on our Zusman Hospice team.”

Zusman Hospice Volunteer Para-Chaplain, Mark Weinstein (pictured top row, middle), adds, "For me, hospice volunteering is a calling and an honor. It allows me to journey with an individual nearing the end of their life and to help them see that their illness does not devalue their immeasurable worth as a human being. Throughout the hospice experience and following the loss of a loved one, I am privileged to help family members cope with their grief and to find their path to healing.”

Volunteer Manager Monica Mayer welcomes those interested in volunteering to contact her at (614) 559-5502 or submit an inquiry on the Wexner Heritage Village website at www.whv.org.
