Ohio Department of Health Survey Says: Wexner Heritage House Gets High Marks

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Ohio Department of Health, which annually grades nursing homes on everything from environment and dietary practices to employee background checks and nursing certification and licensure, gave Wexner Heritage Village's Heritage House a grade of four stars, finding only four minor deficiencies.

“The four-star rating confirms that our staff is providing first-rate care to the people who rely on us for their daily rehabilitation and long-term care needs,” said David Rosen, President and CEO, Wexner Heritage Village. “The four-star rating also reflects our tradition of excellence in 60 years of service to the community.”

The Department of Health's Division of Quality Assurance conducted its annual survey April 4-7, 2011, at Wexner Heritage House, including both its rehabilitation and long-term care areas.

The survey's purpose is to measure nursing homes' compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, in order to ensure quality of care and quality of life for residents.

In addition, survey results are tabulated and become part of the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) quality rating system, which provides information to consumers looking for services.
